For the moments you feel anxious, overwhelmed, and not quite yourself

Helping you feel like yourself again

Gentle, integrative support for a calmer, more balanced mind and body

Hi, I'm Laura.

I help women retrain their stress response using  approaches that support the nervous system. I also specialise in supporting women with the more sudden form of anxiety that can arise during times of hormonal change. Many of the women I work with say they don’t feel like themselves anymore, or that what used to help just isn’t working. You’re not alone in that, and things can begin to feel easier with the right support.

My approach brings together a background in genetics (PhD), psychology (MSc), Lifestyle Medicine, and CBT hypnotherapy, alongside holistic, mind–body approaches. I work in an integrative way to help you understand what’s happening and gently find your way back to feeling more like yourself again.

Each session I had with Laura was excellent.
Laura has a warm friendly approach. She creates a space which enabled me to go deeply into the experience.

Laura has helped me when all else failed! Laura’s approach is calm, professional and friendly. The hypnotherapy sessions and recordings to use later have been very successful. Thoroughly recommend.

Wendy Shorten

Laura made all my anxiety seem normal. Laura had so much warmth and empathy for my situation. The techniques she used really helped to reduce my anxiety levels and allow me to feel motivated and brave enough to face fears that had been with me for so long. Highly recommend.

You might be looking for support with...

Support with worry, overthinking, or difficulty switching off

When things feel more unfamiliar, or out of balance

A calm, private space to talk face-to-face

I work with mild to moderate anxiety and will always guide you to the right support if you need something more specialist.

How I work

My approach is integrative, meaning we look at your wellbeing as a whole rather than focusing on just one aspect.

I draw on a range of psychological approaches, including cognitive and behavioural techniques, acceptance and mindfulness-based tools, and hypnotherapy where appropriate. Alongside this, I may offer gentle lifestyle guidance—such as support around nutrition, daily habits, and nervous system regulation.

Rather than applying a fixed method, I adapt our work to what feels most helpful for you—supporting you to better understand what’s happening and find ways to feel more steady, calm, and in control.

From anxiety to a calm steady mind

Anxiety can sometimes arrive suddenly and strongly, making it hard to think clearly or feel in control. These spikes can be exhausting and leave you feeling on edge even after they pass. Together, we work on helping your nervous system settle, so you can experience more calm, stability, and confidence in your day-to-day life.

From hormonal overwhelm to emotional balance

When your emotions feel unpredictable, intense, or out of proportion, it can be deeply unsettling. Shifts in hormones can affect how you respond to stress, leaving you feeling reactive, sensitive, or emotionally drained. Through a gentle integrative approach, you can begin to understand these changes and support your mind and body back into greater emotional balance and ease.

From feeling 'not yourself' to feeling grounded and in control

Many people describe a sense of disconnection from themselves when anxiety and hormonal changes overlap. You might feel unfamiliar in your own thoughts, reactions, or energy levels. This work helps you gently reconnect with yourself, rebuild a sense of inner steadiness, and feel more grounded, capable, and in control again.

What is a 1:1 therapy session?

A session is a calm, confidential space where you can talk through what’s been feeling difficult and begin to make sense of what’s going on.

We’ll gently explore what you’ve been experiencing day to day—how it’s affecting your thoughts, emotions, and physical wellbeing. From there, I’ll guide the session at a pace that feels comfortable for you, helping you feel more grounded and clear.

Where helpful, I may introduce simple tools or techniques to support anxiety regulation, emotional balance, and a greater sense of calm.

Sessions last 50 minutes and cost £60.
Packages of 4 sessions are available at £200.

We can also begin with a free 15-minute introductory call to see if this feels like the right fit.

What is CBT hypnotherapy?

CBT hypnotherapy combines elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) with guided hypnosis and relaxation techniques. CBT focuses on understanding the thoughts, patterns and behaviours that may be contributing to anxiety or emotional overwhelm, while hypnosis can help support relaxation, nervous system regulation and deeper emotional change. For most people this is more effective than CBT alone. Together, they can provide a calm, supportive approach for working with anxiety, stress, confidence and emotional wellbeing.

What is lifestyle medicine?

Lifestyle medicine is an evidence-based approach that focuses on how everyday factors such as sleep, stress, nutrition, movement, social connection and nervous system regulation can have a powerful impact on both mental and physical health. Emerging research in genetics and epigenetics — the area of genetics exploring how lifestyle and environment influence the way genes are expressed — suggests that people often underestimate how much influence they can have over their long-term health and wellbeing. While medical treatments can play an important role, lifestyle changes can also significantly support recovery, resilience and, in some cases, help improve or even reverse aspects of chronic disease.
