About

I’m Laura, an integrative therapist and wellbeing facilitator.

In therapy, I specialise in helping people to overcome anxiety and find greater purpose. Beyond therapy, I facilitate group classes and workshops to help others find peace, meaning and wisdom in every day life.

I am fully DBS checked, NCH registered and hold Balens professional liability insurance.

My approach

I bring together Western psychology with Eastern contemplative practices and a wider understanding of wellbeing. Psychological approaches such as CBT and EMDR can help us understand and change patterns that keep us stuck.

Meditation and other contemplative practices offer a different perspective — helping us develop awareness, acceptance and a deeper relationship with our thoughts, emotions and experience.

I also draw on mind-body approaches such as hypnotherapy, Reiki, sound healing and lifestyle medicine where they feel appropriate.

East meets West isn't about choosing one way of understanding ourselves over another. It's about being curious about what helps — psychologically, physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Why I do this work

A turning point for me was when I first discovered meditation about a decade ago and it felt like such a revelation. I quickly leaned in, and found out more, both about Western psychology, and also about Eastern contemplative practises. In particular I started practising Buddhism and I found I started noticing odd synchronicities. Life has never been the same again! Now I want to share what I've learned to help others to explore, heal, find meaning and feel better.

I have a background in both science and psychology, including a doctorate in genetics and a master’s degree in psychology with distinction. I’ve also trained in Lifestyle Medicine and hold a Level 5 Diploma in CBT Hypnotherapy, and have trained in EMDR. I draw on elements of these in therapy as well as my experience as a spiritual practitioner and as a mum.
